Powder Puff Stock Rules 2026

 GENERAL

1. Any 1980 & newer, front-wheel drive, 2-wheel drive, sub-frame passenger car.  4/6 Cylinder Mid Size class up to 108” wheelbase (Except G Body which is full frame, NO AWD, front or rear axle must be disconnected. NO VANS! 

2. All glass (including windshield, front and rear windows, loose glass that is broken or that is still around the window seals, head and tail lights, light bulbs, etc.) MUST BE REMOVED prior to bringing the car to the track.

3. Car MUST BE SWEPT clean from ALL debris, tools, tires and anything that doesn’t belong MUST BE REMOVED before being teched or you will NOT pass!!!

4. All exterior (chrome, trim, emblems, plastic grills, door handles, plastic bumper covers, spoilers, and anything that’s plastic or metal that will break and fall off onto track) MUST BE REMOVED prior to bringing the car to the track.

5. All interior (carpet, moldings, seat except driver’s seat, headliners, door panels, speakers, etc. and anything flammable) MUST BE REMOVED.

6. Dashboard is optional. If it is left in, radio, ash tray, glove box and anything that can come loose. MUST BE REMOVED.

7. All cars must have working brakes. Cars that do not have brakes will NOT run!!

8.  Rust repair and fix-a-plates must be approved by an Official.

9.  After your vehicle is inspected, it reports to the staging area.  NO GOING BACK TO TRAILERS!

10. ROOF SIGNS ARE MANDATORY.

11.  In the derby you have 60 seconds to make a competitive hit, SANDBAGGING will not be tolerated.

12.  Fresh or Pre-ran vehicles are permitted 4 fix it plates 4” X4” ¼” Square, 2 per frame rail firewall forward.  You can not cut or move plates. NO plates attached to subframe.

13.  NO SEAM WELDING INSIDE, OUTSIDE, ANY PLACE WE WILL SCOPE!!

14.  NO extra banding,9 wire, chain, seatbelt or strapping other than where specified in the rules 

15.  No 9 wire from door to door a crossed or attached to floor/ anywhere other than specified by official you will cut!  


SAFETY FIRST

1.  DOT or Snell helmet REQUIRED; if you lose your helmet during the derby you will be disqualified.

2.  Eye Protection is REQUIRED

3.  Long sleeve, pants, NO OPEN TOE footwear (boots recommended)

4.  All fuel pumps must have a switch mounted dash high. 

5.  All cars must have a high pressure fuel line.

6.  Fuel Cell Protector PERMITTED must be straight up and down.

7.  All cars must have working brakes or you will not run.

8.  All cars must have a working seatbelt or you will not run. 

9.  Fuel lines must be double clamped and a protectant around it coming through the firewall.


TIRES and WHEELS

  1. Any air-filled tire permitted on front. Rear tires can have solids
  2. No more than 8-ply tire
  3. No studded tires permitted.
  4. Wheel weights must be removed.
  5. Valve stem protectors.


INTERIOR/CAGE

  1. Battery must be secured inside the car and bolted to the floor inside a battery box, NO MILK CRATES. 
  2. NO straps, bungee cords or ratchet straps.
  3. It is recommended you cover the fuel cell and battery
  4. Stock tanks allowed as long as they are in front of the rear axle. NO STOCK TANKS INSIDE PASSENGER AREA
  5. Aftermarket tanks maybe bolted the floor or may come off the backseat bar.
  6. No more than 2 ½ gallons of fuel in a stock tank.
  7. Rear seat bar is MANDATORY.
  8. A simple 4-point cage is PERMITTED using a minimum of 2"x2" or a max of 2"x6".  Fuel cell protector, must come off of the back seat bar and be a MINIMUM of 5" off any and ALL surfaces (floor, decks, humps, tunnels, trays, etc.)
  9. Halo bar is PERMITTED and must run vertical.
  10. Front window bar is MANDATORY 9 wire/chain or tubing.
  11. No other welding permitted anywhere (except where specified).
  12. Door bars not to exceed 10” past the B-Pillar.
  13. NO DOWN BARS anywhere on the cage.


BODY:

  1. The Driver's door may be welded solid.  Can not overlap 3" passed door seams. (Outside drivers door reinforcement must be FLAT ¼” MAX steel. This is optional) Questions- ASK!
  2.  The Hood, may be 9 wired, banded or chained.  No more than 6 spots, only two strands of 9 wire per wrap. Alternatively you can use 2"x2" angle 2” long on 4 spots only sheet metal to sheet metal with a 3/8" bolt 
  3.  The trunk, maybe 9 wired, banded or chained.  No more than 6 spots and no more than 2 wraps per spot.   Alternatively you can use 2"x2" angle 2” long on 4 spots only sheet metal to sheet metal with a 3/8" bolt. 
  4. The Doors, may be 9 wired, banded or chained.  No more than 5 spots per seam, only two strands of 9 wire per wrap.   
  5. A VERY SIMPLE trunk tuck must be no further than 4” back and CAN NOT touch the trunk floor. 
  6. Headers PERMITTED
  7. All mounts to remain stock.
  8. NO creasing/wedging (light prebend in rear permitted) ABUSE this rule it will be removed. 
  9. PRENOTCH is PERMITTED
  10. Trunk and Hood both need a 10”x10” opening, can be bolted with 6 total ⅜” bolts.


BUMPERS:

  1. OEM any 80s or newer TIN bumper only, NO CHROME (example: caravan, mazda 3) If Questionable ASK!
  2. Bumpers can be welded directly to the frame 3”x3” plate on top of bumper to frame, MAX.
  3. NO added metal or bumper plate.
  4. 2 strands of 9 wire, or ⅜” chain max can be secured to the bumper only 1 link can be welded to the 1st 3” of the frame rail.
  5. DO NOT shorten the front frame rail. 


SUSPENSION:

  1. MUST be OEM stock working suspension for the make and model you are running.
  2. All suspension and steering must remain factory stock. 


DRIVE TRAIN:

  1. No transmission coolers.
  2. No slider axles.
  3. No motor swap.
  4. No cradles.
  5. No protectors.
  6. Aftermarket shifters PERMITTED.
  7. Harness and Computers PERMITTED
  8. Carb conversions permitted.
