Bone Stock Full Size: Any 1980's and newer full-size car. No full-size pre-80s model cars permitted.
General Rules
- Read all rules carefully and follow them! Stock means Stock!
- Any “stretching or bending” of the rules you will either run in the modified class, or load!
- You have 2 attempts to pass inspection, or you will not be permitted to run. This rule is strictly enforced.
- A 12”x12” roof sign is mandatory, it cannot strengthen the car in any way.
- Cars must be stock unless modifications are stated in the rules. Cars must have functioning brakes at all times on at least one axle.
- No painting of frames, the inside of the body of the car, underneath of the car, or the inside of the trunk. This includes “overspray”, if found with paint within any of these areas the car will not even be inspected.
- A helmet, seat belt and eye protection must be worn at all times on the track. If your helmet comes off, once on the track you will be disqualified. Long sleeves or racing jackets are highly recommended.
- If it doesn’t say you can do it, don’t do it!
- Any controversies or protests must be brought up during the drivers meeting. We have the right to re-inspect, cut, or drill any car at any time. If you are caught breaking the rules you will forfeit all winnings and/ or prizes you are due. If you stretch a rule, you will lose that rule.
- All airbags, glass, plastic and interior must be removed before arriving at the event.
- All trailer hitches and braces must be removed.
- Batteries must be moved to the front passenger floorboard, must be properly secured and covered.
- Patching and rust repair will be permitted but must be approved by an official.
- Officials’ decisions are final! All cars are subject to re-inspection at any time.
- You will be permitted 2 plates (4”x4”x1/4” only), one per frame rail. If the car is found to have plates on the frame or body that the rules do not allow the car will not be permitted to run. There will be no option to fix this!
- If you hammer/shape/weld on the frame in any manner not covered in the rules you will not be able to run. There is no option to fix this.
- You have 60 seconds to make an aggressive/competitive hit, after that 60 seconds you will be disqualified. An aggressive/competitive hit is solely at the discretion of the officials.
- You are not permitted to hit anyone in the driver’s door. If you do, you could be disqualified. If you use your driver’s door to take advantage of this rule, the car that hit you will not be disqualified.
- You may not get out of your car for any reason during the heat until you are out, or the heat is under red flag condition.
- If you have a fire in your vehicle, you will be given the right to continue to run as long as the fire department deems your vehicle safe. After 2 fires you will be disqualified.
- No sandbagging, teaming, or holding- any of these will result in a disqualification. There is NO PIN TO WIN!
BUILD
- Any gear is permitted, you must run the stock housing and axles for the make and model of the car. Rear end bracing is not permitted.
- Cars must be 100% STOCK. No cross breeding the entire drive line. It must be the same make as the car (GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc). It must have a factory engine engineer of the make and model of the car with the stock exhaust or headers. The exhaust may be cut off. ALL ENGINES WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $1,500.00 BUY OUT.
- The engine must be mounted with the stock mounts in the stock position. No welding of mounts. They must be bolted in. No homemade cross members. The cross member must be stock and bolted in, not welded.
- Stock gas tank must be removed, you must use a fuel cell or boat tank. NO PLASTIC FUEL CELLS!
- Windshield must be removed. The following must be removed prior to inspection: the windows, headlights, taillights, all chrome, and the mirror. The interior must be swept clean of debris and glass. You must remove all glass, plastic, and fiberglass on the outside of the car including the plastic bumper cover. ALL AIRBAGS and PUCKS must be completely removed.
- NO SIMPLIFIED WIRING HARNESSES or COMPUTERS PERMITTED; this class is meant to be inexpensive and fun! If the car has a wiring harness in front of the core support you may move it behind the core support. You cannot remove body mount bolt to do this. NO AFTERMARKET SHIFTERS, ALL SHIFTERS MUST REMAIN STOCK, NO ROD SHIFTERS, ETC.
- All body mount bolts must be factory stock, no altering is permitted. Body and Frame must match make and year.
- The doors must be chained, banded or wired in no more than 8 places per door. The wire for the bottom of the doors may go around the frame. You may use 5/16” chain or 2 strands of #9 wire per hole. You can weld the driver’s front door for safety using 3”x3”x 1/4” strapping and you can have a door skin no thicker than ⅛” or similar material.
- Trunks must be chained, banded or wired in no more than 8 places, and no more than 2 double strands of #9 wire per spot. Two of those may go around the bumper and/or the frame. The deck lid and tailgate must be in the factory position and can have a simple tuck, no pushing it down and attaching it to the trunk floor. MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION! If you remove the deck lid you are not permitted any wire for your trunk. Two (2) 8" x 8" inspection holes must be put in all deck lids within 2” of the center of the quarter panel rain channel. You cannot remove the speaker deck from the car. SPEAKER DECK MUST REMAIN IN STOCK, UPRIGHT LOCATION. No welding or adding metal is permitted. If you don't have a deck lid, you are not permitted any wire for your trunk.
- Hoods may be wired, banded or chained in 8 spots and no more than 2 double strands of wire per spot. You may use 5/16" chain or 2 strands of #9 wire per hole. It must be sheet metal to sheet metal only. There must be a 12” hole in the hood in case of a fire. You must remove the hood latch. Hoods must be open for inspection. A double strain of #9 wire in the center of the front windshield is mandatory.
- Creasing of the body is permitted but it must be behind the back door on the quarter panels only. The quarter panels must stay the stock height of the car. Quarter Panels must stay in an upright position.
- Any air filled tire permitted 8 ply max.
- No lip protectors, no valve stem protectors.
- You can have a 4-point cage, minimum 2”x2” maximum 2”x6”. Must be 6” away from all sheet metal. Side door bars may only be 60” max. End mounting plate can be no bigger than 6” x 6” and must be mounted no further than 6” behind the driver's seat. You may have a halo bar but it must run straight across and can only be welded to the top side of the rear seat bar. You are permitted a fuel cell protector off the backseat bar, no wider than 24"x24”and must be 6" away from all sheet metal. No down bars anywhere permitted on this build.
- All suspension must remain stock. Screw in spring risers are permitted, 2” max height. Front suspension only. No wire, chains, or any weld on the rear ends or the rear spring pockets. Only 1 factory shock per side is permitted and must be in stock location. The back frame rails must be factory height. No lowering of the rear end. Can be no lower than 14” from the bottom of the frame to the ground. This will be measured behind the back body mount hole of the bottom of the frame.
- No reinforcement of suspension of any kind.
- Any OEM bumpers. No seam welding or loading of bumpers and No Chrysler Pointy. Must be bolted and welded on in the factory location. You may collapse the shocks and weld all the way around the shock and to the mounting plate to the bumper and there must be a 1 1/2” gap between the frame and the factory bumper shock plate. The shock must be bolted in the factory location. If the car did not come with bumper shocks, you cannot add them. You can use 4" x 4” box tubing that is ¼” thick as a bumper that is no more than 5 feet long with no point. The ends of tube bumpers must have a “skin” cover. On the back side of the bumper where the shock mounts you may use a 1/4” x 6"x 6" piece of flat metal to create a flat mounting surface. No homemade points on bumpers. All bumpers must have an inspection hole at either end. No loaded bumpers.
- You may weld the spider gears in the rear end to make it posi. You must use factory rear end housing for the car you are running. No slider driveshafts permitted. No pinion brakes permitted.
- No wire, chain, banding, or straps can be attached from roof to floor in rear seat area. No more unlimited 9- wire may be used. 9-wire may ONLY be used where specified.
- Spray foam may only be used around the battery and/or computer under hood, and around the radiator. Any spray foam used in other locations will need to be REMOVED.
FRAME
1. Frame & fixit plates for ALL cars can be NO BIGGER THAN 4"x4" square. Must be 90 degree corners. No parallelogram-shaped plates permitted.
2. All fresh cars and pre-ran cars are permitted (2 total)-4"x4"-1/4" square frame plates. Repair plates must be approved by Total Chaos Motorsports Officials!
3. Once plates are added they cannot be cutoff and moved. Must be a 1" gap between welds. Frame and fixit plates cannot connect body to frame, sub-frame, or K-member.
